Cats get a lot of credit for being curious. But I’m more curious than most cats. And it’s a good thing. Because if I wasn’t then today would have been the weirdest day.
First of all it was pretty cold out but the sun was shining and the sky was seriously blue. I guess Jane was glad the gray skies were gone because she spent the WHOLE day outside. That was pretty weird if you know Jane, but the weirdest thing was that even though it was really cold, she also decided to paint outside!
And that’s when it got even weirder. She pulls out these big panels of wood and starts doing all this strange new stuff with liquidy paint instead of crayony pastels and watercolors like usual.
I had a feeling we were in for another one of her “experimental moods,”so I decided not to say anything. So, I just watched and chewed on some sticks.
First she painted them all one color using a big roller like when you paint walls. Then she starts painting these blobs on them.
I started sniffing around and finally asked what she was thinking which is when she announces that they were flowers!!
I tried not to laugh out loud, so I smiled and nodded and looked at them from every angle but, to tell you the truth, I couldn’t smell anything!
She said flowers are one of her favorite things and one of the first things she can ever remember painting. She painted them in kindergarten and all through grade school.
And the even crazier thing is she never stopped, not until it started to get dark. Just one after another ALL day!
She must’ve done like 10 0r 12 of them. I lost track after a while because sometimes if she didn’t like what she painted, she’d just paint over it. So who knows how many she painted in the end.
Somebody must have said they liked those tulips she painted the other day because now it’s like a tulip festival around here.Fortunately, I’ve got the curiosity thing down, so I’m just going to wait and see what happens next… What do you think? Kind of abstract, but there’s starting starting to grow on me.
There’s more, but you get the idea….
Is it dinner time yet?
